Bone & Bowtie products have been crafted using quality and natural materials. As such, they require special attention & care to ensure they remain in pristine condition. Leather acquires patina, softens and changes colour with time. Natural marks, such as veins or wrinkles or folds, are to be expected. They are proof that your product is unique and authentic.
Care and upkeep of your leather article
Use as intended and do not overload to prevent damaging material and edge finishing.
Keep away from sharp objects and abrasive surfaces.
Avoid water and moisture. If wet, dab immediately with a clean, dry, lint-free absorbent cloth.
Protect from harsh light exposure, excessive heat, extreme cold, and rapid temperature changes.
Keep away from chemicals and stains: detergents, alcohol, solvents, makeup/cosmetics, perfumes, oils, and ink from pens.
For light colours, avoid rubbing against dark/coloured materials to prevent colour transfer.
Allow regular “rest” periods to extend the product’s lifespan.
Do not machine wash or use mechanical cleaning methods.
Avoid commercial cleaners/treatments unless specifically recommended for the item.
Storage: keep in a dust bag, away from light, heat, and humidity. Stuff soft bags with tissue/silk paper to retain shape. Avoid plastic wrapping/bags for storage.
